Yes, it is that time of the year again. As I promised myself a break from writing, I decided it was time to get some of my preserving done, not that it amounts to a lot.
Yesterday, I started off with a 14 qt. stock pot and preceded to make veggie soup, to be frozen.
As usual, I made too much, which means the 6 qt. pot was full too. today I a resting.
I need a few more supplies. I used all my cabbage, so that means the stew is on hold until we go to the farmers market.
No, I am not making a special trip. I will slip a big batch of pot barley soup through during that time and also a big slow cooker of chilli and those will be done.
I was going to make spaghetti sauce, but I still have some… might do it anyway, if I get the right time of sales on the supplies.
When all this is over, I will make Christmas cake, but only a small batch.
It is coolish outside, comparatively speaking with what we had over the summer and today it is raining, although that isn’t supposed to go on for too long. It is this cooler weather that gets me into the cooking mode. I am also thinking of stopping to pick up bananas that are on sale, overripe and making banana bread.
These things are all quick and easy on the average.
So, I am guessing you are wondering how things are going with the production line. I was told that the first fixes for ‘Standing in the Light’ will be coming in today, which means Marie will get the manuscript for ‘Dream Warriors’ after this. Eniko has ‘The Princess’ and ‘Equals’ in her hands, with ‘Spirit of the Light’, ‘Angelika Leanne’, ‘Tyndal’, ‘Standing in the Light’ and ‘Dream Warriors’ in the draft file.
To be fair, she has been busy doing other important things. Candy has ‘People of the Phoenix’. Sarah has ‘Hidden Kingdoms’ and ‘Final Contact’.
In some ways, it feels good to put my feet up and sit back with a book to read instead of write in my hand.
Mostly, I feel lost and am getting ideas for more series, as if I need more ideas for more series.
Le Sigh.
Thena and Tath you are wondering? They are waiting for me to settle down.
In the meantime, Tath has healed from his dentist trip… poor guy.
Well, the London signing is right around the corner. I know of at least a few people that are excited about this. I am just hoping Eniko has enough room in her car for all the goodies I have been accumulating over the year. I may also be heavy going to the airport, not a good sign.
Well, that should do it for this weekend. Hoping for more news over the next week as things take shape on other fronts as well. Maybe, by next Saturday, I will have my cooking list done… not likely… but maybe most. Until then, have a good one….
So happy Tath is doing so well, poor baby. You are such a busy woman and you are making me hungry! Have a good weekend.
