Only one more week for the locals and their children are back in school. I realize some of the children are already busy at work in class, but the ones here have one more week. The long weekend signifies that it is time for them to head for school, I can think of at least one person that is scrambling to put this together, amongst other things. As luck may have it, this is not me, although I am taking advantage of some of the sales. Yes, I am raiding the pen and paper section of the stores. This is the only time of the year when you can get 200 sheets of paper for .25 and 25 pens for 1.00… and I have no conscience when it comes to setting up my supply of said items. I believe my paper pile is nearly a foot high, pens won’t be as extensive, but it doesn’t need to be.
I have my writing list all figured for this year. I only have 4 chapters left to complete ‘Final Chapter’, which means it will be done by the end of this week. (Probably even typed out). I am taking a guesstimate that there will be approximately 90,000 words in that book. I will quickly write ‘People of the Phoenix’ after this and after it has been finished, I will rework the both stories and add them to the editing pile. That should take me to the end of September, when I plan to begin writing on ‘Hidden Kingdoms’, which will be another decent size book. I will follow that up with ‘Spirit of the Light’, which is another short book. I am going to take a guess that those two will be done and reworked by the end of the year. I am not going to push. I may even take a break for a couple weeks after they are done. I will then begin work on ‘The Princess’ and ‘The Priestess’. Those two will take me into spring, and I plan to write ‘Angelica Leanne’ then. We will see where that takes me by then as I have two works in progress that I have shelved that I may go back to work on for a while. I don’t want to plan too far in advance.
How are the bratz, is one question I hear a lot. The answer is, better than I am, and the reason is just that simple to understand. Yes, they had another catfight over possession of territory next to mama the other night. Yes, I yelled at them. No, I didn’t discriminate, they both got blamed. And yes, they have both behaved since, although I can see signs of upcoming battles in the future. One climbs into my arms and smugly settles in and the other looks at her with green eyes filled with retribution… what is that, you ask? Their eyes are blue? True, but there are times it doesn’t seem like it is true to their character. End result of all of this? A night where the green eyed monster refuses to settle. There are times I wake up and find that I am wearing a fur blanket, one that starts at the shoulder and ends at the knee… no, I can’t help it that I am short, it is what it is, and there are two of them.
Well, today is the day I head for the random generator and choose a home for that RTC bag filled with goodies that I showed off on my FB author’s wall. I already have it packed and it filled a big box, someone is going to be very lucky. We can all thank Eve Langlais for the contribution. Without it this wouldn’t have happened.
Well, it is time to get moving again. I actually should shake down the house, but can see where that won’t happen for another week. I want to get ‘Final Contact’ typed out and still have approximately 16 chapters to put into the file. Wish me luck as I hope to have it done by next weekend at the latest. With this in mind, I am off, until next week…
