I woke up to find myself added to things I hadn’t signed up for, I feel like a character in an old army flick where the sergeant yells “I need a volunteer, and all but one steps back, and I am the one who didn’t move.  I am not getting a pat on the back for this, I can tell it already. 

I also had a dream where I was contacted by Amazon,  and when I looked on the list of what they had available for purchase, that was supposedly done by me, I saw the entire list of EC in Audio... wait a moment... I haven’t authorized this, nor has any sold because of that detail.  They want a signature.  What if I don’t like the narrator?  What if she or he sounds like a country western singer with a cold?  What if he or she slur the words?  More important… HOW DID YOU GET YOUR HANDS ON A COPY OF KINGS OF THE EMPIRE, especially as only 5 of us has seen the complete manuscript.  Yes, no doubt a dream.  

I opened by eyes, to see a pair of silver ears over the blanket... blinking in surprise... that is Thena’s spot, well not quite, but she is not where she usually is.  She is curled up by my knees.  That means 1 of 2 things.  One, Tath kicked her out of her spot, so he could take over.  Or, it was safer down there because I was restless and she tucks herself tight against the curve of my shoulder.  She could sleep on my face if I allowed it, which I won’t... one of us hacking up furballs during the waking hours in the house is enough… thank you very much.  Either way, they are sleeping in my bed right now, and I am up, writing the blog.

Someone asked me the other day, do you write the blog by the seat of your pants?  Comment returned, more or less, but be warned, anyone who tugs too hard on them could get mooned if they tear.   I know… droll.  Watched the Thunder storm last night, very interesting, lots of lightning, no little piggy curling up its tail to run to save its bacon though.  The yard in a mass of little puddles, and there isn’t even a breeze this morning… we are supposed to get more this afternoon, and I believe it.  

Well, I booked my flight out for a while, and now I have to make sure the bratz are taken care of for the time I am gone.  Looking for volunteers… it shouldn’t be too hard.  Thena promises to hiss for the full week + that I am gone… and Tath will do his best to make himself scarce.  They most definitely will come out for food, and tell you when they think the litter pan is too dirty.  They are not shy that way.   I have two people who are likely candidates for the sharing and caring already.

Despite having a nasty cold, and putting my back out, which I believe I am all over now,  I have managed to get up to Chapter XVII written in ‘Intercession’.   It is time I got serious about typing some of this out.  I am considering the following schedule… type out 2 chapters a day, and write one, until done.  What do you think?  I know Thena and Tath are not fond of the idea.  But the thought that this could be in a different pile to be edited has its merits, especially when I think of that trip at the end of July.   Question is, can I do it?  Thinking aloud to myself… it will take at least 7 days to rework.   Wow… that is cutting things close, might have to take the manuscript along to rework it on the trip… could be done.  What do you think Eniko?  Should I take the book along for the ride?   Or do you think it would be in the way?   Oh yes, I forgot to mention, Eniko is joining me, or is it the other way around, as your flight lands in Winnipeg, before it goes on to Kelowna?  No matter, we will figure it out.   Off now to bug the bratz, grab some munchies, and the writing pad.  

As for the rest of the work in progress, Sarah and Morganna are busily working on Hunter’s Challenge and Kings of the Empire, and I will probably get to see them (as well as Forbidden Contact) finished when I get back from British Columbia.  I will have my work cut out for me by then, for there will be the edits, before they head for Becca.   I will then move on to ‘The Phoenixes Choice’.   Should be interesting.  And, what I challenge!  Until next week, have a good one, and I will return next Saturday with another update.
