That is what I told myself at the beginning of the week, and to be fair, I have almost caught up to where I am writing.  I am over my expected word count in ‘Kings of the Empire’, no surprise there.  I still have 3 chapters to type out and I am running in excess of 106000 (closer to 107,000) words.  I still have to write out several chapters.  I am not sure where this will end yet, as the moment I tie one loose end up, two more pop up.   I will tame the octopus yet.

My nocturnal duo has made their objections known in no uncertain terms.  That is not to say that they are not allowing me to do the typing, just not writing or sleeping much.  They are unsettled in the night, and want to be held the moment I walk away from the computer.  While I type, they sit on a chair and watch, side by side, black and white faces directed towards me, with their blue eyes focused on me with an intense look... we are casting a spell, you will be finished, or you will not sleep.  We demand, we deserve.  And one of them has learned respect for the flyswatter.  (She has to start fearing something.)  The sound of that swatter striking the table gets her off the kitchen counter pronto.  Speak about feeling empowered!  Tath sits on the chair and watches her, he knows that as long as he isn’t on that counter he is safe.  unless he is trying to sharpen his claws on the chair, then his butt is grass and I am the lawnmower.

The pb arcs for ‘Into the Demons Lair’ came in, and they are gorgeous... doing Snoopy dance here.  Becca, along with the few others who have seen them, told me it was so, but now I know for sure as well.  In the meantime, ‘To Capture an Ancient’ is posed to enter the last stages of edits.  Sarah will get them the moment she returns the one she has, which should be any time now.  I don’t believe it should take her long to do go through ‘TCAA’ and then we will see which one we will send her after.  The choices from the backlog to fix are getting smaller, which makes us all want to celebrate.  They all looking forward to going through ‘Kings of the Empire’, which will go into first stage edits sometime in May.  I had planned on taking that whole month off from writing, but I will be happy to get what I can.  I will then either go into ‘Lost Kingdoms of the Empire’, because it is a short, or Intercession, because it releases right after KOTE.  And already the kittens are giving me that look.

To be fair to the little toads, they are not jumping on top of the china cabinet anymore, not since Thena jumped, and missed.  That is a long way down for a skinny looking pussycat.  Very had on the bones when you land on hardwood… she has put in a request for carpeting in the living room.  Hot happening cat, I like my maple floor.  I could just see the two of them using the carpet for a scratching pad.  Sigh.

Well, it is time to hit the keyboard again, the jet propelled duo is tearing up the racetrack here, and may or not, spend their time resting after this.  They spent a restless night and need a catnap.  Monday I will get the mail off, which got partially forgotten on a chair here.  It is time to get this done, and next week looks like the time to do it.  With that in mind, I will report on progress at that time.  Perhaps I will have good news to relay to you, and the last of the books on the Elven Chronicles will have quit growing.  I can then concentrate on the next two phases of the story.  As ever, stay healthy, and until next week… have a good one.
