Yup, there is no doubt about it, winter is here. The snow is ankle deep and all the little crystals are sticking out their collective tongues at us giving the message of the season.
That is right, they are saying that they are not leaving until spring.
That means sometime during the white season I am headed for the mountains for a couple weeks.
I am not complaining, though I am not sold on the yearly forages onto icy highways, I am just telling it like it is.
Snoop has the right idea, though he is not happy about this. He tucks his furry little hide into the feather comforter and pretends he is hibernating.
He has been like this since he was a kitten and got his paw wet with the first snowfall of that season…
… that was so funny. You should have seen the look on his face. (and they say animals have no expressions) Anyone who has ever said that never saw the look of ‘HOLY S**T, WHAT IS THAT?’ that crossed Snoop’s face when he chased back into the house from racing outdoors for a getaway from the confines of the house.
Snoop is always happiest in summer when it is hot and he can lay in the sun and melt.
Well, it looks like we are on the final leg of the year. Thanksgiving is over and the turkey has been stripped to the bare bones, and not we shop until we drop to get the perfect gift for loved ones and friends (and yes, a few enemies) after all, tis the season. Right? I found the present Snoop put aside for me… you guessed it (sorry Snoop) Shudder… totally gross.
He watched me toss it and sighed…
… he has since forgiven me, a quick cuddle and a small kiss between the ears and all was good.
He knows Santa will be good to him…
… he always gets the most presents, if not the best. I think he still has memories of the mechanical mouse little bro got him the thirds year he was here. (Boy did he get a truckload of gifts that year.) He has already started to get Christmas cards in the mail and checks out each one every day.
He is sitting here purring as I write and he watches. He would like everyone to know that their thoughts are appreciated.
I finished my baking early this year, not that this took a whole lot of effort. This means that I can sit back and vegge out with Snoop while I write tidbits on ‘King’s Daughter’ and “Luthien’s Song’. Both are around the 33 % mark now and growing.
‘Living in the Light’ has taken a back seat and is sitting at about the 60 % mark, that will not take long to finish when I decide to do it. ‘First Contact’ Book 1 of the Tantalus series is at about the 10% point, and I have lots of time to work on it.
As far as the rest is concerned…’Return of the Legend’ is finished except for the formatting for e-books, ‘Guardians of the Future’ is finished, except for the formatting for e-book and ‘My Darling, Janice’ is into second stage edits. (will be doing a doubt look at that one, but the worst is over).
The way things are going I should be working on edits and new storylines for 2015 by the end of winter. It is a never ending wheel I run, and I am beginning to understand how a hamster feels.
In the meantime I hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving (those who celebrated it in the US) and hope everyone enjoys the beauty of the Christmas season, love those lights.
How about that I found the original I lost earlier.
LOL I love it and all the emo’s are so cute. Hugs to the Snooper and keep him warm. I wish we had snow but so far nothing. You going to Kelowa for a couple is good. Sorry if I spelled it wrong. I got the other blog too but it wouldn’t let me comment. Loved both.
Not sure when the Kelowna bit will happen, and don’t worry about Snoop, he is nice and warm.
