I haven’t decided whether it has been a long week, or a short, quick one. I heard from a few of the reviews that have finished reading the arcs of ‘Kings of the Empire’. They were quite flattering in their remarks, with one saying that it deserves to be a best seller.
I debated for a long time whether I should m that, as it makes me sound like I might have a swollen head over it, but it sounded so good, I couldn’t couldn’t keep it to myself.
Another reviewer said said had to read it twice, and would again, because she liked it that much.
So, I am on cloud nine here.
I am happy with the book overall, but that doesn’t alway coincide with what others might think about it.
All the prizes from the event were shipped off in South Dakota on Monday, and people are saying they got them, and are happy with the prizes. The preordered arcs that were ordered are nearly all delivered, with the last one supposedly going to be at the post office on Monday.
I have all my Christmas cards addressed, signed and ready to roll when the right time comes.
The Halloween goodies are on the table, right where I can get at them.
Sometime this weekend my nephew and his family will come to set up the television, and that will be another job taken care of.
I think Thena and Tath know that something is coming up with the weather, because they have been bringing their pompoms to bed with them lately. Of course you know that means this old bird isn’t getting any sleep when that happens.
They spent the evening last night resting up for the night, so I have a feeling this could become a habit.
Thena has been playing escape artist, and zipping past anyone who comes through the door at the first opportunity.
The same doesn’t apply to Tath, who would rather watch her get caught.
Unlike Snoop, Thena doesn’t run far, nor does she come in from the rain.
One drop was all it took for Snoop to want in.
Tath turned 2 this week, and of course you know who missed it and celebrated late, again. He didn’t seem to mind, although he expects extra cuddles in bed at all hours because if it.
Right now, he is roughing up Thena, as they play in the other room. She is being very vocal about it. I am not intervening, because she erased a half of a page from my last chapter on the computer, with one small pounce on the keyboard.
How to they do that?
Tath is also repeating one of Snoops habits… He will sit on bed and scream, mama, when he wants to go for a nap… not happening cat.
I did some typing this week, but have to admit, I am falling behind on the written work. I have 5 chapters written, left to type out, and the word count on the typed out file stands a little over 32000.
I figure that if I was caught up, I would probably be a little better than half way, which in reality will be less, because we all know I tend to over run the word count.
As everyone knows by now, I am going to be heading for Ottawa next year, as part of the RTC Ottawa signing authors. Eniko and I have been plotting different things, like costumes, and goodies to bring.
I will probably fly into Ottawa, while she will drive, as she is a lot closer.
We are going to set up an order list for the books, as RTC preorders, for anyone who wants to have them ready to go when they arrive.
From all I am hearing, it is going to be, or is, a sold out event. Not sure whether to be excited, scared, or a little of both.
Monday is Halloween night, as it is everywhere, and the weatherman is forecasting rain/sleet, which can be typical for this area at times. You know it is bad when the trick or treaters come do your door dressed as Ralphie from Christmas Story.
You would think Mother Nature would give the kiddies a break, unless she is thinking that the smaller amounts of candy they get would be giving the parents a break.
I will be as thoughtful about this as I can. So, if the children can’t come here, I will go to the daycare and offer them any goodies that are left over, if they want them.
After all, Halloween is mostly for the children, right?
I figured that if ‘The Phoenixes Choice’ is done by the end of November, I will spend the month of December catching up with some of my reading. If it is done before, I will probably decide to write ‘The Siren Connection’, which reminds me, you are all going to love the Siren Elder in ‘Intercession’, he is such a character.
But, that is getting ahead of myself. Eniko says she will be working on the edits for Merika’s Story, starting this weekend.
Candy says she is waiting for it after Eniko is finished.
Sarah will finish it off.
We have a new member of the spit and polish team, Betty Olsen, who will do a final proofread.
It seems that no matter how careful we are, there seems to always be a few errors.
Maybe this will solve most of it, if not all? Well, we could hope… then again, now many perfect books are out there?
Well, it is time to go. I am going to wish everyone a Happy and Safe Halloween, and head off.
I have a list of to-dos, as usual,
and I am not certain what is going to come at me out of left field.
Until next week, have a good one.
Another enjoyable blog and leave it to the Dynamic Duo. Happy 2nd Birthday Tath and shame on Thena for the computer erasing. 😦 Happy you are going to the RTC again, you know you loved it and you & Eniko will have a great time again. Happy Halloween to you too and hope the weather won’t be too bad.
I am crossing my fingers, but they are saying rain all day, which means the ditches will be full, as we are not supposed to put in crosswalks, or the graders destroy them, that means the children are stuck walking through them, unless they don’t mind going the long way
I do agree with the ARC rewiers, it is an epic book ending an epic series. But then I am biased LOL I am an Elfanatic 😉 Happy birthday Bratz Tath! Two years already? Time flies.
Happy Halloween and I am hoping the weather will hold for the kids.
So am I, or I am going to have a pile of goodies left, not a good thing.
Another good one. I cannot beleive they didn’t set up your TV when thet delivered it. That wouldn’t happen here or it would be the last thing bought at that strore. KOTE only had two errors that I found they did a really good job. Most books have that many. Happy Betty is working on your team now. I know she does some Beta reading for a couple of authors. Loved the terrible twosomes antics. You brightened my day.
Unless you pay them for the service, that is not included
They are sleeping right now, getting ready for tonight 😉
