Well, it is the day after Canada Day and also after the Birthdays of Sarah and Becca, two members of the team that brings you the books I write... Sarah is my final stage editor, and Becca is my formatter.
They say that they had great birthdays with friends and family around and enjoyed themselves immensely. Giving cheer here.
I also would like to congratulate my niece, Michelle, in Alberta, she got married yesterday.
I saw some of the pictures, and her and her parents looked so happy, gotta love times like this.
I got up early this morning, or stayed up late last night, depending how you look at it. The bratz decided they were going to romp at 2 AM.
My fault, I am thinking, I did tell them that they were getting lazy because they spent the day snoozing on the couch while I typed.
Don’t get me wrong, I am not complaining about that, at least I didn’t have them walking all over the compute and I, while I tried to type.
But really kitties, 2 AM?
I decided to stay up and finish writing Chapter XXI of ‘Intercession’, because there was no way I was going to sleep through them bouncing on the bed and tearing off.
End result, 2 tired cats, and one tired writer with a set of rake marks on her shin… when I yelped, they settled down.
Tath looked guilty,
Thena, not so much,
but it wasn’t her claws that left those gouge marks on my leg.
Then again she isn’t repentant for much of anything that she does.
The other morning I had to rescue her off the screen in my bedroom at 4AM… she had been chasing moths and had all 4 sets of claws stuck in the wire mesh.
Tath told me about it..
. pat, pat, pat… mom… gotta love the sound of the Siamese kitties.
I have been typing out what I have written so far and am going over the 30000 word mark in ‘Intercession’. Today I am hoping to type out Chapter XII and XIII, which gives you a good idea how much more I have to do.
It is going to be another busy week, but, if it continues to progress the way it is, ‘Intercession’ should be finished before the end of the month, when I fly off to Kelowna for some time with the bros.
This should be interesting. Not sure what to expect yet, but I know I am looking forward to it.
Whether they are or not is another thing… LOL.
From what I am being told, I won’t be seeing ‘Hunter’s Challenge’ until a day or two before I leave, which means Sarah will be pushing to get it done, so I can go through the manuscript one last time before formatting when I return. After it goes through formatting, I will have to get the back cover for it fast, or it will barely be done in time to get to the reviewers on time.
Sorry people. It should arrive on the ebook lists in time to give people time to preorder.
It is, as they say, what it is. I am expecting ‘Kings of the Empire’ sometime this week, or so Sarah has told me.
Candy is doing the proof read on ‘Beyond the Myth’, which makes it ready for formatting, which won’t be done until the middle of September, because I don’t have a cover yet.
So, you have a good idea where I am at, as well as the manuscripts. If I get ‘Intercession’ done before the end of this month, it will go to Eniko for 1st stage edits.
‘Intercession’ is next spring’s release.
I will see how fast I can knock off ‘The Phoenixes Choice’ when I get home from my short holiday.
I will also be working on ‘Lost Kingdoms of the Empire’ book 1 of the One Empire Series.
Sounds busy to me, but as ‘Lost Kingdoms of the Empire’ is only twenty five thousand words, give or take a few thousand, it shouldn’t take long.
Then I am going to cruise through the last part of the year reworking as many of the other books as possible.
January I will start on ‘The Goddess, book 1 of Guardians of the Empire’.
Which means that I will be into my 2018/2019 schedules.
My editing team will be busier than ever though, unless they race through these like they did with ‘Kings of the Empire’.
Well, it is time to grab some cereal, and begin typing again... 2 chapters typing and 1 to write, and see how that goes.
I will have to catch up sooner or later on this manuscript, right?
I guess I should begin to consider putting the first chapter of ‘To Capture an Ancient’ up on the Blog too.
There is also a rumour that the website is going to be revamped… should be interesting to see what Becca is going to do to it. Go, Becca, Go, gotta love my technobunny.
Until next week, have a good one, and enjoy your long weekend, which affects both sides of the border in North America… Canada Day and the American 4th of July.
Yes even though I have been going to bed and sleeping I am still so tired. Understand the tired part. Be nice kitties and let mom rest. Shopping day today and I am not looking forward to it. Hot down here. Loved the blog.
It has been up and down for the weather, nothing very hot, but then again, with this humidity level it is just as well.
