Well, things are moving ahead, I am finished writing up the rough manuscript for ‘Kings of the Empire’. It is huge, by my standards at any rate.
I think someone took the cats aside and had a talk with them, because they are watching me closer.
It is like, mama is into reworking her manuscript and going to take the rest of May off after she is finished.
Results of that revelation, they are jumping into my arms and making themselves comfortable without notice more.
But mama, you were just reading, that is something you will do when you are finished the reworking, aren’t you finished that?
No. Of course everyone knows that they think I owe them… not own them, owe them… extra time, treats, and cuddles.
They have also taken to spending more time on the bed in the afternoon, and I think I know why, because if I go into the room, I get looks of expectation.
Not happening kittens…
Makes me wonder if Snoop left a diary somewhere at times, and they found it…
If so, I am in so much trouble.
Yesterday evening Tath went into panic mode. He was playing with a large paper shopping bag, when he put his neck through the loop of the handle.
I was in the other room… innocently reworking the manuscript..
. crash, boom, rattle, as he hit every stationary object in the kitchen and raced through the living room with a portion of the bag still attached….
“It has me, I am doomed!”
If ever a cat had an expression on his face that said that he left a pile behind him because he was frightened out of his wits, that was Tath.
(Usually this type of thing is what Thena is known for.)
He eventually came out from under the bed in my room, after some coaxing. (without anything around his neck.)
Hold me mama, I thought I was a goner for a while.
‘Kings of the Empire’ finished off at over 130,000 words, and I won’t know what that translates into as far as page numbers go, nor will I, until Becca does the formatting, which is months away. The editing team is looking at the manuscript with gleaming eyes.
This is what they have been waiting for.
The end of the Elven Chronicles, something that signals the beginning of the new series’. Yes, there will be two spin offs. EC: One Empire, that tells us of their life immediately after the Drazon War… which is a peacetime look into their lives. And, Guardians of the Empire, which happens many millenniums later, after the generations that were in the EC. have left us.
I am looking at the possibility of also doing final editing on two stories this weekend… the reedit for ‘Return of the Legend’ and the last edit for ‘To Capture an Ancient’. Finishing off the last one will mean that we will put Volume 2 of the Short Stories together.
It will also mean that all but the one that I am reworking now will have gone through the editing department.
After my break, I will begin to write on ‘Intercession’.
I think those who have been reading the Tantalus Series will like like the Tribunal Elder, he is definitely different.
Well, it is time to head off and get back to reworking ‘Kings of the Empire’, so, until next week… have a good one.
Oh my, poor Tath sure scared himself silly but glad he is ok. Will be interesting to see how many pages KOTE will be and looking forward to the EC: One Empire to start. Hopefully you can relax in May!!
Oh poor TathBrat! I am sure he will stay clear of shopping bags for a while.
Yes, I do have that gleam in my eyes and my pen is creaming GIMMEGIMMEGIMME 😀
I meant SCREAMING lmao
Love it
😀
Still not feeling good here. Shopping day is Monday and wanted to get the book marks distributed. Don’t know if I am going to feel like going. Praying I feel better tomorrow. That’s great news that your editors will be down to just one book from the size that ought to keep them busy awhile. I am looking forward to Intercession and the Tribunal Elder. Also the alien race that is on Mars. Give the Dynamic Duo a hug from me. Loved the blog.
