Alright, why have I typed all week and still have 2 chapters to go? At the beginning of the week I said to myself… “Self, if you type 2 chapters a day, by Friday you will be caught up.” Hum… What went wrong? Granted I added a couple… then there was the day I had to buy cat food for the bratz… Thena is still running in circles around my feet… Where did you do, mama?  And, if I head for the door, where are you going, mama? Can I come, mama? Are going to bed to cuddle, mama? Does Tath HAVE to come too, mama? Tath looks at her and sighs, as he stretches his long body across half the bed… Try move that!  And, their favourite, you aren’t going to leave us alone, MAMA!!!  

 

I also found out something else about my writing this week, especially writing Kings of the Empire… you know those twelve chapters I had to write before I wrote the last two, to get to the end of the book? Well, they are still there… In fact I think they had little ones, because my mind keeps saying that number has now grown to 14… I am saying, no. We will see who wins.

 

‘Into the Demons Lair’ is now in Becca’s hands for formatting, which means it won’t be long before it is available for preorder. Morganna is working hard on To Capture an Ancient, which isn’t a long one, so it shouldn’t take too long, then it will be off to Sarah. ‘Beyond the Myth’ is in Fran’s hands, and shouldn’t be too long getting here, before it goes into Candy’s hands. When Morganna gets ‘To Capture an Ancient’ back to me, she will be getting ‘Hunter’s Challenge’. For now ‘Forbidden Contact’ is waiting in the wings. But it will all get done in time. 

 

The cats have been good, well sort of, they are not too happy about waiting for me to finish typing, and have probably left a few memories on the manuscript… typing oyyauhenth, courtesy of a kitty cat…but if they get too rambunctious, I know where the paper shredder is… Tath runs and hides because of the noise it makes, and Thena does everything but jump into the basket the paper is shredded into to get at the strips… that one is all about attitude. Tath is the lazy Tomcat, and he has the role down perfectly… stretch out in the sun and lap it all up. If it gets too bad, Thena attacks him, but turnabout is fair play and she likes her comfort at night. I have learned not to feel too sorry for her, even if he is twice her size and weight. I keep thinking of that tiny piece of white fur that came through the door when I first saw him and how she treated him in the beginning… I warned her, payback can be a witch. The things we learn the hard way.  One of the biggest things I have noted, is that when I stumble into the washroom, first thing in the morning, where their litter-pan is, all 8 of my plugged sinuses become suddenly operative, and my eyes get lubricated from the tears quickly.  When I go back to bed, they cuddle in close and purr, I love you mama.  Sigh. What’s a girl to do? 

 

I have decided to take the month of May off, not going to write… much… well, going to try anyway. I know that I am going to be writing Intercession and The Phoenixes Choice back to back after that, so I need time to get out of the Elven Empire. Wish me luck.

 

As you noticed, or not, I released the cover for Intercession… gotta love Cora’s talents… she has done a great job on the Tantalus covers. We are also going to have a FB event, which everyone is welcome to join in, the Elves do like their parties, and I get a chance to sit back and relax for a while. Always a fun thing.
