You can sure tell the nights are getting colder, the fur babies are cuddling in close and they want to be under the feather blanket, not only on top.
(granted, it is a time controlled thing, because there is such a thing as being too warm, although Snoop never thought so.)
You can always tell when they feel they need to be warmer than they were though,
you feel this tiny paw reach under the blanket to pat your shoulder or arm.
“Lift the blanket so I can get under it too, mama.”
Can they get under it without help?
Definitely… will they?
Only if they have to.
They do like being catered to a little.
Thena is the one who is not shy about getting close in the night, she likes her cuddles and wants to be close to your face, the closer the better.
(As the cat hair in my mouth can testify.)
Tath, is less obvious, but I can tell the difference between them, even in the dark now.
Tath is heavier and bigger.
They exchange places and when he cuddles in close (yes, he pretends to be independent in the daylight, but at night he gets right in there too.
His little blue eyes should be green at times too,
I have witnessed his actions in the night when he thinks I can’t see. I have felt them too. I call it the ‘down and out’. It is where he jumps on the bed, hoping Thena isn’t where he wants to be and, when she is, he jumps at her.
(Straight up into the air, to land on top her little curled up body, to land with all 4 feet on her)
She has the softest meows, until he lands on her.
She can also go ballistic on him, after catching her breath… and the chase is on.
My time of relaxation seems to be something they are enjoying. I sit back on the chair, put my feet up, read… and 2 cats join me, one to lie across one shoulder and the second one across the other.
It doesn’t always work that way though, sometimes one will come to lie on top the other.
It is with a heavy sigh and looks of retribution that the one underneath leaves, not much longer the chase is on.
(Did I mention there is no silk flowers left in the house, there is a reason for this.)
Every time I mention it to a visitor the two cats (no longer kittens) look at me as if to say, “Well, I need a place to sit too,”
Reply, “It doesn’t have to be on top the china cabinet.”
Then again, what do I know?
How is my vacation from writing coming along, you ask? Well, I am almost through book 7, and my mind is twitching.
I don’t think that is a bad thing, but it could signal an early end to this time off.
Yes, the pen doth beckon.
Tath has been keeping it moving, so it is in shape for me.
He is such a thoughtful kitty cat.
I hear it calling for help, as it gets flicked under the couch, china cabinet, chairs, into corners, under the beds, under the buffet.
(I swear that cat is more active than he looks, because most of the time he epitomizes the statement, lazy tomcat.)
I have plans for, at least, 5 more books, before I pick up the pen again.
Yes, I know there is 2 more weeks left in the month.
Yes, I know I said I was not going to write all month, (working on it), this doesn’t necessarily mean that I won’t get into different areas.
(Looking into the sky, checking for cloud cover to explain the sound of thunder, or is that the laughter of the Gods above?)
Stick out tongue as clear blue sky, what they don’t know…
Well Thanksgiving is over here, Halloween is looming, and so is another visit from little bro. He will be coming for Halloween.
Should be a busy time.
I am planning the menus already… Beef roast, with the potatoes, carrots and onions cooked with it. BBQ spare ribs. Fried chicken.
He usually eats alright when he comes and what is a matter of who has dropped in to see him when he is here.
Last time we had a take out mean (Chinese) and lots of leftovers.
Well, it is time to go, going to do a quick dust of the floors, someone has spread cat hair all over EVERYTHING.
Until next week… be good and don’t do anything I wouldn’t do…
Don’t let that mean you should have a dull week.
LOL you always manage to make me laugh, how do you do that? Happy reading, I am glad you are taking the time to catch up a bit.
I try
XOXO
The Dynamic Duo at it again, LOL. Poor you with two cats and trying to sleep at night. I have one dog and he can be a pain too. When it’s cool he likes to cuddle next to me (he does that all the time anyway) and under the covers-between him & hubby, I get squeezed in. 😦 So glad you are finally getting your reading in-no cheating-no writing-just reading!! Thanks for the Saturday chuckles!! 🙂
LOL Those cats gotta love them. I know you enjoy Lil Bro’s visits and so did the cats last time. LOL Will cross my fingers you get through the next five books before the the pen attacks you to get away from Tath. Love the blog.
