So this is the weekend that Eniko has come for a visit, and it has been interesting.
The first lesson learned is, never leave an open purse where the cats can get to it.
Yes, that means tables, beds, or any other flat surfaces.
Second lesson, cats will make a nest in an open suitcase, especially Thena cat…
… Tath cat knows how to hide and likes to play games.
He wants to be held, knows you want to hold him, but won’t let you near.
He will, however, pout because you are holding Thena.
Thena isn’t above sticking out her tongue at him, and same goes in reverse.
On Thursday we went out, kicking about for a while, and then met up with members of the family at Boston Pizza,
where I am hoping everyone had a good time.
When we got home, Eniko banned me from the living room to set up something.
When she was finished, she led me into the room and presented me with a surprise from friends who have been following the Elven Chronicles.
If I wasn’t such a mean old bag I would have cried.
I was really touched.
Everyone had gone to such lengths to make the surprise special and meaningful.
It definitely wasn’t anything I had expected.
I feel like I need to say how touching I found that.
In response I shared some special news with the group that proved to be such a bunch of sneaks… no not telling anyone else… this is a future news flash.
Yes, I know I am going to get accused of teasing again.
Today, being Saturday, Sarah is coming, (family included), and we will have a book visit, where we will not only talk about what has been written, what is being edited and what will be written. But also, books from other authors.
We should have a blast.
The cats should be a part of it, Thena enjoying all the cuddles and pets,
Tath running around acting as if he doesn’t want any part of it,
but inwardly gnashing his teeth, because he isn’t the centre of attention.
Suck it up prince.
Now, from Eniko:
This visit has been in the works for a few years, but alas life throws unexpected twists into plans when least expected. But I finally made it! I am so happy to finally meet MA face to face and she is awesome. Met the family and they are a wonderful bunch. At the dinner get-together, we had such a great time and loved the feel of family unity, lots of laughter, some well placed smart ass remarks that had me laughing out loud, made me feel welcome and part of the family.
The surprise went off without a hitch and I want to thank again to a wonderful group of people for helping me make my idea a reality, to show her what she and her books mean to us. Her first words were: “You are bad!” 😀 It took hours to go thru all of them and she laughed, she got misty eyed … and no she is not a mean old bag 😉
We’ve been having a gabfest the whole time since I arrived, talked about everything… life, books, being pestered by the demanding for attention of the gorgeous bratz, Tath and Thena. We chose some photos for future swag we are brainstorming about, also looking for charms for the jewelry I will be making for giveaways.
I cooked one of my fave dishes last night, I call it the Hungarian burger with a side dish of sautéed zucchini and a summer salad. She said that I am a good cook 😛
I got to pick breakfast again this morning and she makes heavenly tasting blueberry pancakes, fluffy and huge mmmmm
I am making chicken paprikash with nokedli (small dumplings) for lunch today, hopefully she will like that too. I am leaving you now to carve up a chicken and start the cooking while continuing the gabfest 😉 Have a great Saturday!!
From Thena and Tath:
They left us alone most of Thursday… … bonus… Of course they weren’t impressed with all the work we did while they were gone.
.. just can’t please anyone.
Granted, mama’s manuscript WAS scattered a little,
and the toys could be found in the most interesting areas,
but they were meant to be a surprise.
No appreciation for a day of extreme efforts.
No matter, we got a reaction worthy of our efforts last night, when mama heard the sound effect of what we did in the living room..
. she must have jumped a foot, straight up off the mattress.
(that was funny) She then went to see what had gone crash.
We could have told her it was only the tv trays, but it was more amusing to see the look on her face when she turned on the light to check these things out.
Until next week at this time we will continue to try to add our antics to the blog,
hope you have a good week, and mama says to let you know, she will return.
(As soon as she catches our furry little hides. hehe)
