Yes, it is Saturday already and, although the weekend is always welcome, it signals the beginning of another week coming up... and we are about to go into month 7 of 2015. How, when, where… did this year go? Granted, I am happy to see some warmth come into my world, it is going to warm up, right? Bro out West is complaining about temperatures in the 100’s… we haven’t made it into the 90’s yet. Even the air conditioner is wondering whether it is going to get any action this year… you know what I mean… a workout…
Most of the packages I had planned to get out are gone finally, it took longer than usual. Sigh. The rest goes out next week, or so I am told. In the meantime I am writing on ‘Earwen’s Song’ and have added another three chapters to my list of things to type out. That is another thing I am wondering about… how come my to-do list keeps growing, despite my getting things done. Sighing. Surely it can’t be that much harder working around kittens. Granted, it takes longer to eat, because they challenge my right to the bottom of the bowl, from the time that I start on the top of the bowl. The sound of kitten feet hitting the ground is a common thing here. They give me these looks… are you ever going to finish that cereal? ... Yea, I know, you told me ... But, you let me get away with it last time (as if) ... You mean you were using that pen? ... But I am hungry ... You did it ... You mean it isn’t bedtime yet? ... But it is nap time ... Who ME? ... But she was doing it too ... Look at what he is doing, are you going to let him get away with that? You wouldn’t let me do it ... You love her more than me … … Mom loves me better than you... Okay, we got what we wanted, time to get out of here before she realizes she has been played. ... Busted, s–t ... You can’t tell me what to do, especially when she is off doing something else, when I am doing this.... and the big one... but I like the top of the china cabinet... did that antique figurine have a special meaning? ... oops, sorry. (for the moment) ... But we were trying to see if we could break the kitten speed record for the 40 ft. race.
In the meantime, life goes on, telephone calls get disconnected (because they step on the wrong spots and buttons of the phone). (bite through the telephone cords.) Pens get lost and sheets of paper turn up mysteriously punctured in a pile that didn’t look touched (go figure that one out). Each kitten has his or her own specialties too.
I got the cover for Forbidden Contact (a Tantalus Novella), and the covers ordered for ‘Into the Demons Lair’, ‘To Capture an Ancient’ and ‘Kings of the Empire’. Candy is coming later to hang a couple pictures up for me, I have to get a shopping list made up of incidentals (which are things not to be eaten, and try to explain that to the kittens.) Monday I have a doctor’s appointment, and the week will begin.
