Do you believe that the weatherman has a clue what he is talking about? He is saying that there is going to be some pretty decent weather for the next week, before the temperatures start to dip again.
Well. I guess it is possible; the geese haven’t begun to pile into the area yet.
Yes, I happen to live about an hour drive from the world’s capital of geese meeting marshes.
When they begin to come from the North to get ready for their great migration they fly in, pick the farmers fields bare, until they are ready to bust, and gossip….
Yes, you heard right, gossip; you can hear them for miles and miles.
Do they care if they are keeping everyone up during the night?
You know it, absolutely not.
Just ask the neighbor that lives close to the bed in the river here. I have seen tens of thousands of the honkers in that area. It is as if they noticed the sign that say “Town limit, no firing of firearms allowed.” (Tell that to the neighbor that shot those crows for getting him up at 4AM every morning in spring) Everyone who was asked about it looked shocked… then denied hearing a thing.
“Did you hear a shotgun go off as the sun rose this morning?” “Oh, so that was what that pop was!” “Gee officer, I was otherwise occupied.” (No, don’t expect a straight answer as to how.)
Snoop knows to keep a distance from the geese when they land in the yard, and yes, it has been known to happen. He waves from the front porch, asks how the young geese are coming along with their flying lessons, and wishes them a safe trip. (Before telling the hunters where to find them.)
He is such a stool pigeon.
(And proud of it.)
We have Lúthien’s Song formatted, and it is up for pre-order on Smashwords. We are watching to see where it shows up next, it is always fun to watch for that. Snoop checks for it on the ipad, between naps, which I use the main screen. He understands I need the larger screen. He says I am getting old and the eyesight is the first thing to go.
I have begun to work on ‘For the King and Elven Empire’, although I am not writing very fast. My mind is clear on what I want written, Snoop and my back has other ideas. Snoop says I need to nap more, preferably with him, because he needs cuddles, badly.
My back says it hasn’t healed yet, and I wonder what I have done to deserve it.
I can’t remember anything strenuous that I did on my back. Or is that with my back. No matter, I am totally innocent.
Well time to get back to work and, check to see what they wrote about ‘King’s Daughter’ in the reviews.
I understand there is one on the 20th (today) and another on Monday.
I will post the links separately.
Until next week, have a good one… and don’t do anything the Elves wouldn’t do.
You are very lucky to have such a wonderful assistant in Snoop. 😉
I agree. Noting like waking up to a face full of fur, and having a pussycat climb up your pant legs as you try to type … the lap is his, writing pad or not, and that can and does become the shoulder after a while… left shoulder so he doesn’t intrude on your freedom to write. 😉
I just finished Kings Daughter and loved it though it was a lot darker than the previous books. You kept the humor there periodically. That Liessen was something else. Could have shook him a few times. You would think he would want to bond with Aredhel somewhere more beautiful and nicer than a cave in demon territory. They ended up where you knew the bonding was good thing though. The stage is set for LS can’t wait to get it.Had company and a bunch of stuff that stopped me staying with the book. GRRRR Loved the review on TRC and Agree with most of it.. The love story had to be there no matter the location they were in. You have some really nasty villains in this one. Hope they get what is coming to them in the future. Loved the blog and yes we hear the geese fall and spring here. My son love to hunt them.
You know how it is with Elves, once the connection os made, the chase is on.
Tell your son there will be about 8-12 million of them, about an hour drive from here in less than a month. American hunters come up all the time, some have enough amo and weapons to supply the Canadian armed forces. (and more sophisticated than what our troops have). LOL
